MINNEAPOLIS: ASMP Minneapolis-St. Paul - Leah Nash: The Necessity of Evolution

  • Cargo Studios 820 18th Avenue Northeast Minneapolis, MN, 55418 United States (map)

As a photojournalist, Leah Nash has photographed AIDS in India, landmines in Croatia, and Asperger’s syndrome in her own backyard of Portland.  But when faced with an ever-changing industry coupled with a need for financial consistency, she saw an opportunity for reinvention.

To keep up with the market she used her craft of colorful story-telling to expand her repertoire to include commercial and lifestyle photography.  But can you sell out without selling your soul?  Can you still satisfy your need to be creative? How do you diversify while still maintaining a cohesive visual style? And most of all, if you are a pro, how do you keep making money to survive in the changing marketplace?

Join Leah as she talks about staying relevant, staying grateful, and staying unsatisfied.
November 29, 6-9PM – Cargo Studios, MPLS.

Leah Nash is an ASMP Member, and one-half of NashCO, with Christopher Onstott, an award-winning duo based in Portland, OR, specializing in editorial, commercial, travel, lifestyle, education, and portrait photography.  (NashCOPhoto.com and LeahNash.com). Clients include Apple, Chase Bank, National Geographic Traveler and The New York Times. She can often be found dancing with her eyes closed, taking herself too seriously, and listening really hard. She is currently working on a personal project about Bad Ass Girl Scouts.
