Industry Fundraisers Benefitting COVID-19 Relief

[ br(eakfast) + (l)unch ] www.runch.com (2).png

Over the past few weeks, there have been countless fundraising efforts benefitting COVID-19 relief. The way that the photo community has stepped up, offering their works for sale in various formats & initiatives, has been inspiring. From fundraisers that support frontline medical workers, to those that directly benefit the crew members who worked on an image, the number of initiatives has been staggering & the impact impressive.

This is by no means a complete or comprehensive list.

Many of these sales are limited time or limited run & this is an on-going resource.

If there are others we should be aware of or include, please drop us a note & a few details about the initiative by emailing hello@theproducer.com

1) Works for workers

Works For Workers is a fundraiser created & run by artists & activists in NYC selling works AND services. They’re raising funds for the National Domestic Workers Alliance (NWDA) which is offering “direct financial relief to nannies, house cleaners, and home care workers who need help right now, to stay home and healthy — protecting themselves, their families and their communities while slowing the spread of the Coronavirus.” (more here)

2) Yes Future

Yes Future is a print sale of photographs to raise funds for "TOUS UNIS CONTRE LE VIRUS" - an alliance between the Fondation de France, Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) and the Institut Pasteur.

These organizations came together to address the great need to support healthcare workers and researchers as well as to offer support for the most vulnerable. The funds raised will be donated to finance research projects needed to accelerate treatment and vaccine development, support local social workers, and contribute to charities working with especially vulnerable populations.

4) Art For Assistants

This Go Fund Me page organized by Heather Hazzan raises money to help cover the living expenses of photo production assistants, who no longer have the opportunity to work due to Covid-19.

Supported by Epson, who is providing ink and paper, “Art for Assistants” mobilizes the world’s image-makers to sell prints in order to raise money for all the assistants heavily impacted by the lack of work during this time.

7) The Boston Press Photographers Association (BPPA) and the Boston Women’s Photo League (BWPL) Print Sale to benefit photographers during covid-19

BPPA-color-logo-nobackground.jpg

The Boston Press Photographers Association (BPPA) and the Boston Women’s Photo League (BWPL) are joining together to support our communities’ photojournalists and documentary photographers impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.  Many have had their entire sources of income wiped-out as newsrooms and media outlets stop hiring independent (freelance) photographers, and the side-gigs that many used to subsidize their income have been canceled for months ahead.

This site seeks to connect Boston’s many talented photographers with those who may want to support their work by purchasing prints.
